A) IER's presentations below are:

1. Introduces the series.

2. Presentation 2 "The Benzene in Gasoline Can Give You Cancer", explains the severity of benzene/cancer problem with using gasoline. It is reason, by itself, to look for alternatives.

3. Presentation 3 presents a smooth transition path to take us from gasoline, and diesel, to methanol/ethanol liquid fuels made from natural gas and organic wastes.

4. Presentation 4 focuses on both health and performance reasons why alcohols will replace both gasoline and diesel to be the fuel of the future.

5. Presentation 5 steps back and encourages you, if you decide it is a good direction, to see the common sense reality of your actions.

6. Presentation 6 gives depth to the larger picture which is pushing us to change.

7. The last video in the series shows you how bad the benzene situation is for so many around the world. The black smoke is benzene illuminated by a special camera. Note that the EPA Phase II protection device is on the nozzle. At the minimum, for your self protection, you should view this video and hopefully stand back from your tank when filling it up.

Charlie says:

The presentations talk to you about our directions. And, we also give you some slides to use for spreading the word.

The presentations can all be viewed independently.

Additional Presentations by external experts are also included below.

Videos and Slideshows

On this page we will collect our videos. Some created by the Institute, and others that reinforce relevant ideas we are trying to get across.

4. Alcohols are the best fuels

Why alcohols will replace gasoline and diesel to be the fuels of the future. The left side is voiced over and the right side (or just below) is a self paced slide presentation: Why alcohols will replace gasoline and diesel fuel to be the fuels of the future? from Institute for Energy Resourcefulness

5.Common Sense Logic Supporting the Freedom to Choose

Common sense logic to support your transition from oil and get the freedom to choose fuels that cost less and do less harm. The left side is voiced over and the right side (or just below) is a self paced slide presentation: Are you getting a fair deal at the pump? Alternative, cheaper, greener, non-petroleum based fuels are possible now. from Institute for Energy Resourcefulness

6. Methanol Can be Made GHG Neutral

Why methanol is the economic green vehicle fuel from Institute for Energy Resourcefulness

7. Want to actually see the benzene?

Benzene vapor coming out of a gas tank as it is being refilled:

The black 'smoke' is the benzene. It's more than you might have thought. Please don't stand over your gas tank's opening when you fill up.

II. Some history and other views behind the gasoline/alcohol controversy

Here are two videos by the alcohol proponent David Blume

Part 1. History of ethanol and gasoline's acceptance in vehicles.

Part 2. More on uses and on alcohol production.
